Frank Niehaus brings along 28 years of experience in satellite operations, operations engineering and ground segment engineering. This experience was acquired as a service provider and subcontractor to various customers such as DLR/Germany, Eutelsat/France and Thales-Alenia-Space/France (formerly AEROSPATIALE). In his role as an operations engineer Frank contributed to a variety of satellite missions in the field of Earth Observation. Furthermore, human space flight experience was acquired in the role and responsibility of an Operations Coordinator for the Columbus project.
With this experience he provided space consultancy services for operations concepts, ground segment engineering and ground segment acceptance to YAHSAT/UAE, Eutelsat, Arabsat and many more.
As one of two owners and CEOs of LSE Space/Germany, Frank has built up the subcontractor company LSE Space from two employees in 1991 to 150 employees and was responsible for the preparation of competitive bids and service contract management, staff management and recruiting. In 2010 he started his own consultancy, partnering with Euroconsult on multiple projects.
Frank acquired a University degree (Dipl. rer.nat.) from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich/Germany, equivalent to a MSc of Natural Sciences, in 1985.
